The CCTH Management

Mrs. Sophia Blankson is the Director of Nursing and Midwifery Services at CCTH. She is responsible for the provision of leadership for the overall management of Nurses and Midwives in the facility, ccontributing to the management of multi-professional, patient- centered care

She started her nursing career as a General Nurse in 1988 after completing Nurses Training College Effia Nkwanta, Sekondi. Had her certification as a midwife in 1990 at Korle- Bu Midwifery Training College, Accra and a Registered Perioperative nurse in 2000. She attained BA Psychology and Management in 2012 at the University of Ghana, Legon, and MSc. Advanced Practice Nurse with Midwifery option from the University of Cape Coast.

Mrs. Blankson has been leading in the preparation of operational policies and planning for nursing and midwifery services in the facility and its implementation. Taking a lead role in promoting practice that is sensitive to the needs of patients/clients from multi-cultural backgrounds. She was an assessor for the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana before her current role as the Director of Nursing and Midwifery. Contributing to the development, implementation and monitoring of standards, policies and procedures for the delivery of quality nursing care. She is a fellow of Ghana College of Nursing and Midwives (GCNM).

Mrs. Blankson’s vision is to use her skills as a nurse manager to get her nursing team to offer world class nursing services at CCTH, drawing upon a wide range of clinical and technical expertise to support skills development of staff
